Power Food for Picky Eaters
Can't get your finicky child to eat anything, let alone a balanced meal? Spread the wealth with these nutritious foods...
1.. Yogurt-Rich in calcium, protein, and vitamin B12: contains bacteria that may protect against diarrhea.
2.. Eggs- Protein-packedsource of riboflavin, vitamin A, vitamin B12, and vitamin K. 3.. Cereal- Many pack in vitamins, iron, zinc, magnesium, and foalte; look for a low-sugar, high fiber brand. 4.. Tomatoes- High in vitamin C and lycopene; both nutrients may protect against certain cancers.

 

Boredom Busters at Home
1. Bake a cake or cookies.
2.. Tye-dye a shirt.
3.. Make a poster with your child's picture in the center of it.
4.. Let your child paint or color the walls by sticking up large pieces of brown paper.
5.. Make necklaces by beading noodles on a string or "O" type cereal on a piece of string licorice.
6.. Pull out your dress-up trunk and play some make believe games.
7.. Play store-gather different toys, stuffed animals, clothes and plastic ware and exchange them with pretend money.
8.. Play restaurant- take a pad and pen and take your siblings or friends' orders.

 

Toy Safety Tips
Older kids should should keep the following toys away from kids under 3 years old:
1.. Anything with small removable parts, such as board game pieces or building blocks, which can be choking hazards.
2.. Toys with strips longer than seven inches.
3.. Toys with sharp edges
4.. Electric or battery-operated toys; a child can easily choke on a small toy battery.
